Sandrine Holt is the daughter of Sandrine Ho, who was born in London on 19 November 1972. Her parents are a Chinese man as well as a French woman. Her family moved to Toronto Canada when she was five years old, which has been her home for the last five years. She worked as models on catwalks in Paris before becoming an actor. In 1991's Black Robe, she made her film debut in the role of Annuka. Her performance was rewarded with an award called the Genie Award, the Canadian Oscar.
